Night layover in Rome

I have (ONLY) a night layover in Rome -- getting in at 11 PM, out next day at 9 AM. I was wondering what I might be able to do/see, given that I am willing to stay up part/all of this time.
(Or should I just go to sleep, if possible -- if so, what are budget accommodations in/around the airport)

Any answers would be welcome. Thanks!

If you are flying into either Ciampino or Da Vinci, it will be after midnight by the time you clear security and reach Rome centre. If you are female and travelling alone also evaluate whether you would feel confident and safe travelling into a new city at that time of night.
There are many low-cost hotels around the main rail station, 'Termini', which also has the airport bus and train connections, but this is a good mile from the centre. You don't say how long you will have been on your flight, or what your ongoing flight will entail - might be worth stretching out in a hot bath in a hotel airport with the time you have available to you.
You wont be able to see anything in sucha short time. Dont bother.
