I am doing a holiday in Luxor Egypt next month, What is the best travel cheque to carry there? Dollars Pound or Euros?

Dollars or pounds are both accepted and I've used both in the past. I've never taken Euros.

they seemed to accept anything when i was there, with variable exchange rates mind!! dollars and sterling were widely accepted, moreso than egyptian pounds

We went to Sharm and took egyptian pounds but the pound sterling was widely accepted!
