I recently visited New Yoprk, and as grim as it might sound wondered how high the towers were, and imagined they were an amazing sight to behold.

If you know the comparission to empire State it might help..ehg three times the size, or whatever. Thanks.

415 & 417 metres apparently
The Empire State is 381m only high.

I went up to the WTC viewing platrform on the 197th floor in 1999. Awesome. How bad must the alternative have been for people to jump?
Empire State about 85 floors, the WTC was about 102. They were phenomenal buildings, you stood in that plaza between the buildings and looked up, and your head just spun
they were kind of ugly, though, just rectangular blocks. The Empire State and Chrysler buildings are far more graceful with their tapered spires.
^^^ sorry that should say 107th not 197th.
Sorry I used to work in NY in the WFC, so saying the Twin Towers were less than the Chrysler is a bit like me saying your old mum is 'kinda ugly'. You might have a point, but no need to spell it out unles you want to P off anyone who worked around there...
