None of the above.
No, don't have the first 2 and the second 2 wouldn't deserve a tip in my opinion.

I give then a tip, 'don't eat yellow snow!'
i would give them a tip !! do your job better next time
The window cleaner :-)
Me neither.

My binmen once took my almost empty bin from just inside an open gate as I was leaving for work one week. i wasnt putting it out as it was empty and theyd never done it before when i had forgotten.

It was early december and the guy looked at me as i walked out of back door and said 'remember us at christmas now!'

Now if they had ever shown any customer care during the rest of the year i may have done but to deliberately choose to be nice coming up to christmas only? well im sorry i didnt tip them at all.

ps. I dont get tipped at Christmas either
Nope non of the above either. Its there job they get paid for doing it, they knew they had to work at xmas when the applied. And come on give tips to Royal Mail. Pah
1) Yes (I was a pare boy myself so I know how much it's appreciated
2) Don't get one
3) You taking the p1ss?
4) What? for delivering enough unwanted junk mail that a rain forest the size of Wales was sacrificed? and they get paid handsomley (sp) enough to go on strike, and what happened to my early morning delivery? I don't get my mail until 11:30 in the morning.
Hi Bewley - Years ago I use to tip the dustman, but I think that all stopped long ago, I don't know whether they were stopped by their employers from knocking on. I don't really agree with it anyway, although I wouldn't mind giving a kid that delivers the free paper a tip!
Just thinking about it, years ago the dustmen used to have to go round the back of the house pick up a heavy bin and the throw the stuff into the lorry, now everything is round the front and the wheel a bin about 10 yards which connects to a machine which does the only hard of lifiting and tipping the rubbish.

They have also become a bunch of job worths, leaving certain items behind for petty reasons such as it being in the wrong colour bag and so on.

Might have been worth a tip in the old days but not now.
I tip my butler.
To 4GS, why do you think your postman gets paid enough to go on strike? Do you live in a expensive area that has gold plated postmen cause the don't get paid enough for what they do.
1. No
2. No
3. No
4. No
Bah humbug.

Actually this year I may give the postie a pressie - all the elastic bands he leaves scattered on my drive.
An Xmas tip should be for excellent service during the year......now hands up if you've seen any of this from ANY of your typical service industries including the above. I know I haven't, it just gets worse!
Gosh haven't thought about that for over 20 years but my parents and grandparents always did tip the Dustmen when I was young, as well as paper and post - . I guess it is different where people don't know the people who deliver services in the way that they used to 25/30 years ago. I do tip the paper person but would never have thought to do so to the postie and the dustmen.

Paper boy, yes.

Postman, yes.
i dont tip any of those, i tip the avon lady at christmas
1. Yes - as they don't earn much & still manage to deliver the papers on time every morning & in all weathers, even thick snow, bless 'em.

2. No

3. No

4. No.

I buy chocolates for the paperboy.x
I did tip the old bin men with a bottle of champers as they were really good and take the bin when I forget etc -they are as regular as anything -and nice to the old dears round here ... just a cool crew. This year we are having a change over to a new company who are already a pain in the proverbial.
I love my postman ... I got post during the strike, und they are generally very considerate too. Usually give a bottle of Champers to my two regular dudes.
Don't have a paper boy but if I did I would probably get them a WH Smiths voucher for being bothered toget out of bed and do something ... from WHS so they could use it to get a present for their family if they wanted.
