I want to visit proper Africa for 10days in May, where can i get the most out of the country in this short term stay????

how about South Africa? you could maybe spend some days in Cape Town and some on safari. Kenya is good for safaris but the towns are less interesting. Depends what you think of as 'proper Africa'.

I mean, as in more third world Africa, living in a village rather than a tourist resort???
