Does a caution show up on a CRB check?

I am interested in applying to the UCE to do a course in nursing but I have a Caution which happened in May 2007. Do they do CRB checks? If so will a caution show up on it?

Because your course is likely to involve contact with children and/or vulnerable adults, it's almost certain that a CRB check, at enhanced level, will be required. A caution will show up on the check.

A police caution is not a conviction and therefore you do not have a criminal record. You do however have a police record and an enhanced CRB check will show all convictions and cautions. Generally it will depend what the caution was for theft, assault etc will obviously raise issues with an employer who is responsible for maintaining the welfare of vunrable people. If you were under 18 when you were warned ( cautioned ) this will not show on a CRB check.
You say that you will be doing a nursing course, I don't see why a CRB check would be done by the uni. ?

Once you have accepted your offer from the university (and if it is applicable to your course), the Faculty of Health at UCE Birmingham will send a CRB Disclosure Application Form by recorded delivery.
