well, it depends how often you fly...
and how serious the first one is.....
Don't worry about the second one - most people don't survive the first!
Seriously though, it is by far the safest way to travel. I still hate it though!
The chances are only slightly better than hitting the jackpot on the National Lottery, at about 1 in 11 million apparently (http://www.fearless-flight.com/flight-safety/stati
stics.shtml).
The majority of 'plane crashes are fatal so the odds of being involved in 2 crashes are slim to none I would expect.
The chances are 1 in 11 milion on any one flight so if you fly more than once in your lifetime you do cut the odds.....an american study showed you would have to fly for over 10,000 hours to be involved in any type of incident (actual crash or near miss).
The Ch4 TV series Black Box - a program about air crash investigations - said you would on average have to fly twice a day for 25000 years in order to be involved in an air accident and even then there was a good chance you would survive.
Must be a lot higher chance on Aeroflot or Garouda than say Quantas??
LOL certainly. I wouldnt like to fly on an airline with such a shoddy safety reputation. Having said that, Aeroflot seem to have improved tremendously since their jackpot crashes of the 80s.
