We are duly impressed that you are taking a trip to New York Immi :)

You know we have LOTS of nice and MUCH less expensive cities to visit here in the USA :)

yeh I know. and I plan to visit them all once I'm living over there and really rich.
are there any you would particularly recommend, BBWCHATT...?

I take it the last trip went ok, Immi? Great place, isn't it. Had the roof of the Rockefeller Centre reopened then? Not at all free but wonderful views.

Yes Jno, I loved it! It's the most amazing place I've ever been. It's incredible. Can't wait to get back. Didn't visit the Rockefeller place, didn't have time.
Jno honey - being an old lady I prefer Chattanooga, which is my original home town or any place on the ocean that isn't overly touristy - as in not toooo many people - but if I wanted a little more excitement, I might choose Las Vegas or Chicago or even San Francisco.

You could go to the Central Park Zoo. Probably a cheap event. Shopping at Bryant Park (Sort of an open air market),, Shopping from the street vendors in mid-town. Good for purses. Visit the fifth avenue library ( the statues of the lions are named Patience and Fortitude), St. patrick's Cathedral, Visit WTC site, Battery Park, Empire State Building, Tour of Madison Square Garden(costs about 15 US dollars)

Hope this is helpful. When are you coming?
My favourite freebie was the Staten Island Ferry ride It's a must do. You're right immi, New York is just THE most amazing and exciting place to visit.
