How long does it take to travel by train from milan to London? My girlfriend is mad and wants to take that route instead of a flight here.

She says its 8 hours. Only 8 hours?
London to Paris 3 hours something on Eurostar.
Paris to Milan 6 hours 40.
Plus time to change trains in between.

whoops, sorry, London-Paris 2 1/2 hours, not 3 1/2. Total probably 10 hours or so.
You can plan all European rail travel on the website of the German Railways, Deutsche Bahn. (The separate timetables of each country are combined into a common database):

However, if using that timetable, do check that it's allowed sufficient check-in time for Eurostar services.

Trains from Milan run to Gare de Lyon in Paris, whereas Eurostar departures are from Gare du Nord. The timetable allows 95 minutes for the transfer but it should take less than half an hour. (It's just 2 stops on RER line D).
