I was wondering if I could use my UK bought laptop in Japan through the use of a travel adaptor or do I need anything else? Thanks.

I used my laptop in Mexico and all I needed was an adapter. Japan will be much more advanced in techno stuff so I'm sure thats all you'll need. Have a lovely time, I lived there for a year and loved it, very honest people although they are very hard to get to know.
It needs 110v and a Japanese plug...

... and also your laptop transformer might cope with 100-240... so all you need is an adaptor plug. Check it's rating, or if the laptop is switchable, many are.

p.s. Agree withe previous poster. Lovely people, and some of the best food in the world (whether it be local, Indian, a steak dinner, cripes even KFC... the quality of the ingredients is just amazing)
