Yes, but they are a different voltage there so you wouldn't want to for most things.

The UK electrical supply is 230V (at 50Hz). Canada uses 120V (at 60Hz). So most UK appliances either won't work or will work with reduced efficiency. (Other people have posted here to say that their hair straighteners took ages to heat up or that their mobile phone charger only provided a very limited charge).

You'd also need a plug adapter. Canadian plugs look like this:

My mobile phone didn't re-charge in Canada until I bought a canadian charger and the electric toothbrush and hairdryer wouldn't work at all even with an adaptor. So I wouldn't bother taking them.
