This is from the Qatar Airways web site:

"Savour restaurant-quality food that is healthy and tasty. Indulge yourself in a 10-course meal that typically includes caviar, lobster, prawns, Arabic mezzas, fine chocolates, cheese platters, freshly brewed cappuccinos, and the finest wines from the old and new worlds."

So, the airline is not "dry" but the above refers to the First Class section (there seems to be no mention of wine in the blurb for Business and Economy classes). Whether you have to pay for alcoholic drinks in Economy, I don't know.

Maybe if you have a look here you will find more:

You get free alcoholic drinks in economy but their flights to/from UK tend to very busy with a wide mix of passengers so the staff can barely cope even though they work quite hard. If you are in economy you will get absolutely no indication of "the five star airline" status they so loudly proclaim in their adverts. After going to some trouble to try them out I was thoroughly disappointed - although no doubt business and first are far superior, but they avoid pointing out that economy is nothing special. My experience in economy on this and other airlines has left me completely determined to look only at the bottom line to begin with, then treat the whole exercise like a bus journey: you get a seat and expect to get to your destination. BA may yet regret their new baggage policy, but if you fall comfortably within it then they are on the list to check out. But budget airlines are to me at least honest in saying they will take you there but that the rest is pretty much up to you - and generally (but not always) they are by far the cheapest if you take advantage of the availabilities at the earliest possible time.
