There's a pub near me where words of wisdom and random queries are written on a blackboard wall.

One with which caught my attention the other day was "How fat must you be to be bulletproof?"

I know the apectts of speed of bullets, severity of injury etc come into it, but hypothetically - is this possible?

Who would be stupid enough to volunteer to find out!!!!

:o)
It would have to be a very small calibre, low velocity round & take a very obese person for it not to do serious damage.

I agree Athley! Let's put it this way, I don't think anyone would be silly enough to stand in front of the firing range at our club, however obese they are.

Having said that - accidents do happen - but not in our club! ;o}

Bullitproof Fat was the sequel to Bullitproof Monk
Zorro

You are furry, georgeous and funny :o)
As far as I know, fat can only save your life by keeping you warm and afloat around a sinking ship. It cannot bounce off bullets or flying bricks or pianos falling from the sky.
I think what you read on the wall was not a question but infact a riddle, probably with a very silly answer like 'not fat at all, just wear the vest for God's sake, you twit'.
Your best bet would be to go and seek the pub owner for the correct answer, good luck in your quest.

Keeps you warm and afloat around a sinking ship you say, sounds like reason enough for me not to diet.
You can only use that excuse if you are planning on going on a cruise
hmmm, narrow boat in north wales does that count?
i saw a test done on ballistics gel. the bullet went in about a foot, so i suppose if you had 12 inches of fat, it could work - but that is seriously fat.
