Just about any hotel will take cash - they might want a card guarantee, but they will always take cash on arrival and allow the guarantee to lapse.

A 'discrete' hotel is intriguing - it doesn't mean what you think it does, it means one that is separate from the one next door. A typo obviously......

Go to the roughest part of Glasgow....around Ibrox will do....pick the shabbiest, most horrible looking hovel in the area....shouldn't be too difficult either I would have thought.....the type which will house those fresh out of prison and/or immigrants, be they legal or illegal....and cross the owner's hand with the cash.....I'm sure he / she will accept it without any hesitation.....and on the plus side, it's unlikely you'll bump into anyone you know either....for 'discrete', read 'disgusting'.
