My partner and I are planning a trip to Egypt - Sharm El Sheikh. Can you tell me is it is safe for a gay couple and will hotels accept us or will we have to book a twin room?

How will they know you are 'gay'?... surely 'hetero' male couples go there... just book a twin room and push the beds together...

Well we wanting to book a double room as per normal, but not sure if that will cause problems at check-in.
how important 'really' is having a double... just book a twin and any 'potential' problem is solved!... ;o)
Hey it is Egypt... it is cool. Pretend you are divers sharing a room. I've been to Sharm several times sharing a room with a pal.

In fact, you don't even need to 'pretend'...

p.s. any other q's on Sharm let me know!

Well, I have received an email from First Choce recommending us to get a twin. Oh well. Is there much to do outside the resort? We are looking at staying at the Raddison SAS. We want a relaxing holiday but with the option of eating out a few times. I have been told Naama Bay is the best to visit, is that right?

Thanks in advance
Oh I think there is enough going on there to keep you busy!

Honestly, it is a lively place....
If you stay in the resort to chill out it should be relaxing enough. The beach in Naama Bay is crowded I must say.

The nightlife in Sharm is good, some might say too good :-D. Still, there are more clubs, restaurants and bars than you can shake a stick at. Look through the reviews here...

...I find Trip Advisor extrememly useful when planning almost any trip.

Oh and
- Don't change any to EL in England the rate will be horrible. Draw money on an ATM card (there are two branches of HSBC in Naama Bay, and plenty other banks). On arrival change some money at the airport if you wish.
- If you are not diving, and not going to the Ras Mohammed National Park, you do not need a visa (on arrival). Simply write on your arrival card 'Sinai coast only'. Everyone gets visas, many do not have to!

Have fun!
I stayed in the Hyatt in Taba in March and there were several gay couples - it won't be a problem.I think firsy choice are being a bit ignorant suggesting a twim room
