Try searching in Google for Stag Trips Barcelona and things like that.

These people do stag and hen weekends in Barcelona (and there are more).

If you walk down La Rambla towards the sea then about half way down on your right will be the famous Market, behind the Market and along the back streets is the Red Light Area where you can visit the many bars and get to know the locals.
That's the Barrio Chino, and you need to be very careful there, IT CAN BE A VERY DANGEROUS PLACE AFTER DARK. I am not joking.
Mr jrtv is pulling your leg, "Visit the many bars and meet the locals", indeed you stand a very a very good chance of being mugged or much, much worse!
seriously, be very careful round the red light area.
Barcelona in general is very high for street crime - usually non violent - bag snatches, pick-pockets etc.
i'm 43, and lost a bag there last summer on a 2 day trip. Saw over a dozen other english couples in the police station in an hour reporting thefts.
There's some great bars, and the beach is good too, but if you wander off drunk you'll have problems.
Honestly, I go to football, home and abroad, am clued up, and have travelled a fair bit, but found Barcelona and it's narrow streets in the Old Town a bit hairy.
"Los Corracoles" over to the right, half way down the Ramblas coming from the port is a fantastic restaurant
