Red lines mean no stopping. Fair enough. But why do they put stupid little stopping boxes so people can park for 20 minutes, every couple of hundred yards?! Anyone with the slightest bit of intelligence will know that for any production line (whether it be a manufacturing plant, or a road outputting cars at one end), the total output is determined by the tightest bottleneck. Why then do we have NO STOPPING red routes that get cut down to one lane every time a little parking bay comes along, thus causing HUGE traffic jams. Are all road-planners stupid?

I don't know if all road planners are stupid but I bet none of them actually drives a car!
I think all congestion schemes are designed to work by causing as much congestion as possible, so every one gets hacked off using that route and finds an alternative or leaves there car at home altogether and so they can claim to have lessened the congestion by making it more difficult to drive on certian roads. Sounds like all road planners should be politicians
For crazy road planners go to the centre of Dunstable in Bedfordshire.
