Have been to Cape Coral a few times and have loved it! We have rented a villa on the waterways each time. Be sure to go to Rumrunners restaurant link below -

Cape Coral is great because of it's easy access to places like Sanibel Island, Naples, Fort Myers etc it's also off the beaten track so you don't get loads of tourists. If you want to know anymore just ask. I'm sure you will have a great time
