Because I have an obvious email address(so anyone with the slightest info about me would recognise it), I'm considering setting up a second account with someone like hotmail. It is important that if I go along this route, there is no way a recipient of an email from me could identify me. I should say at this point, I have nothing sinister in mind, I simply wish to inform someone about something, much as one would do with crimestoppers where they do not need to KNOW who gives the information, more ABOUT the information.

it is no problem, when you set up the new hotmail account dont put any of your real details in.

tip - if you want a .com address rather than a .co.uk addy then put your address as america, if it asks for a postcode/zip code use beverly hills 90210!!!!!

Because I couldn't give a zip code for beverely hills, I couldn't proceed, so had to settle for Uk and co.uk, I'm trying this, thanks.
Gawab is great for providing additional e-mail addresses.

Unlike may free e-mail services, which only provide web-based e-mail, you can also send and receive SMTP/POP3 mail (i.e. you can use a mail client, such as Outlook Express):
