( no I am not a tXXXorist and I have been in a simulator for a birthday present before 9/11 so i assume i have been vetted. ) I run windows XP and am interested in being able to chill out at the computer with a glass of wine whilst flying somewhere exotic. any suggestions. cucumbers Tue 17/6/2003

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002. Covers the whol world, and you can buy loads of expansion CDs with more detailed scenery, airports, etc. Haven't used it myself but I understand it's about the best.
The choice of terrorists around the world and the leadind flight sim for year is funkily named microsoft flight simulator. And as the man on the ronseal ad's is so fond of saying it does exactly......But unless your really into your flying it can be overly boring because just like the real thing the only excitment is during take off and landing the rest is just crusing at altitude.
Yeo MS Flight Simulator is the best but as sft42 say's its actually pretty dull once your off the ground. I think you can pick up some of the older versions for around 10 I suggest you give one of those a try and if your really into it get the latest which will be around the 30 to 40 mark.
That's reassuring I'm sure an international terrorist would never have thought to deny the fact that they are... what with them being such an honest bunch!

Thanks all , apart from the obvious sad sarcasm that was so not necessary that it did need a comment !! I just wondered if there was anything other than MS simulator. As i said it will be for chilling out ( those with young kids will know ! ) and searching for interesting holiday destinations. Landing wise that is.
I dont think there are that many on the market. There was one called flight unlimited which is now avaliable for 10 or so but I think it didnt have real airports etc. I think for real stuff MS is the only one I know of.
here's a blog i found about my favorite simulator, everything it say's is accurate http://hubpages.com/hub/flight-simulations
