Have you been there? Can you take public transport from Calella to Barcelona? Any tips on what places to visit in Barcelona or Costa Brava in general.

Many thanks

I was in Barcelona earlier this year for 3 days and there is so much to see we didn't get to do it all. We wandered round all the little shops on and around La Ramblas (the main street), visited Casa Mila and Casa Batlo (both buildings built by Gaudi), had a lovely afternoon at Park Guell, which again has lots of Gaudi stuff including some fantastic wavy benches and to complete the Gaudi stuff we went to see La Sagrada Familia. One evening we visited the musical fountains which were great, before hitting the bars and restaurants! Sure you'll have a great time in Barcelona.
There are cheap trains every half our from Calella to Barcelona.

In Barcelona, you can buy a T-Dia ticket (which is very cheap) for unlimited travel, for a day, on the Metro, trams & buses.

Barcelona has loads of historic sights, thousands of great bars and restaurants, good beaches, great shopping and much more. You could spend months there and not see it all. Here, though, is a good starting point:

just came back from calella and it was brilliant it cost us 6 euro return to barcelona from calella station and it took between 45 minutes to an hour to get there the train takes you straight to the barcelona subway you would be best to get off at catalunya i think it is called the subway stations are really hot and irritating so try not to stay in them for too long we also went to marineland that is near blanes that was fantastic too did'nt think much to lloret and it was a bit of a mission to get there too you have to catch the tran to blanes then get on a coach to lloret calella has loads of shops and pineda is'nt far away (it was about a 30 minute walk from our hotel) and the beach there has lots of water sports theres also a little train that takes you round calella for about 1 euro we did'nt bother to go on the guided tours with the reps as travel there is so cheap although other things can be quite expensive there are alot of french german and spanish there not alot of english there is a nice english pub called alcatraz but the hotels tend to have great entertainment too when we went we did'nt know what to expect which is why i have given you so much info we loved it so much we want to go back have a good time
