we usually get our euros from marks and spencer or the post office, they are pretty good on their rates, and yes cyprus is still using their pound,i think the euro is being introduced there late in 2007.
The cheapest way to get Euros is usually to withdraw cash from ATMs in the country you're visiting. The only thing to watch out for is the charges which your bank might make for doing this. Many people open a Nationwide FlexAccount specifically to use for their holiday money because Nationwide don't charge for withdrawals. (Some Abbey accounts also seem to be charge-free).

If you're determined to use Bureaux de Change facilities, then Marks & Spencer are usually best (but they don't have very many branches with exchange facilities). Otherwise, the Post Office probably offer the best rates.
