has anyone ever stayed in a ski lodge in the summer?? one of the ski companies is offering 3 nights all inclusive at a ski lodge in ellmau for a really good price but ellmau doesnt feature on many of the review sites and i dont know what there will be to do there. thank you

I tried to answer this 4 times yesterday, kept getting the 'page cannot be displayed' notice, doh!

Ellmau is a fairly small village, it has the usual bars, cafe/restaurants, hotel stube, touristy shops, local spar supermarket etc.

The local bus service will take you to surrounding villages and the larger towns of Kufstein and Kitzbuhel. There are loads of coach trips taking you to places like Salzburg, Munich, Venice, Innsbruck, The Lakes etc for the day.....

The evenings normally have some entertainment laid on by reps from Thomson, Crystal, Inghams etc and they'll be only too happy to take your money off you if you want to join in, even if you're not travelling with them......

For comparrison see if you can find a review for neighbouring Scheffau, it's a similar size village and just up the road from Ellmau so area info will be the same.

How much did it cost per person then? Are you flying into Salzburg, Munich or Innsbruck? If you need any more info just give me a shout, I was a holiday rep in various parts of Austria so I'd be only too happy to help :o)

Flying from newcastle into Salzburg only 130 pounds per person flight,meals on flight,fully catered hotel and transfers. We couldnt stay in the uk for 3 nights for that price!!!!!

That's fantastic! What a bargain! I hope you have a great time! It takes about 2.5 to 3 hours from airport to resort but in the summer it's quite a nice, scenic ride so you'll be fine.
