If four people book into a hostel (Specifically, the Edinburgh Globetrotter) in an 8-bed or 6-bed room, are the prices based on sharing with 4 strangers?

I would be fine with this, just need to check with the rest of the group! Anyone had any experience regarding this at all?

Hostels in general sell by the bed, not the room, so unless you pay for all the beds in the room you'll be sharing.

Whether this one in particular flows the same policy I don't know.

Ah, it's ok, I phoned them up to check. Thanks though ^_^

Hopefully we can get a few more people along!
If you're going up for the Fringe then it's a bit late as they'll all be full but you could try ringing to specifically ask for a 4 bed dorm. If the Globe doesn't have any try another hostel. We always stay in the Cowgate Tourist Hostel (opposite the 3 Sisters pub) and they have Twin/4/6/8 bed rooms.
