Holidays in Tampa

I'm thinking of going to Tampa next month and was wondering if anyone has any idea of the best areas to stay in for nightlife.

I don't want to have to travel far for evening entertainment, I know Ybor City is busy at night but I am having trouble finding hotels there so would appreciate any help.

I was in Clearwater Beach in February, and the place has really gone downhill. Alot of the shops are boarded up. and the restaurants wernt as nice as they were 5 years ago. i wouldnt waste a day there if i were you.

And the price of cabs in America has doubled in the past four years.

Yeh I was in Clearwater Beach 3 years ago so didn't want to go there again that's why I'm looking at the Tampa area.

I could tell that Clearwater was heading for a fall when I was there, It seems to only want to cater for the spring break crowd these days and outside college holidays there isn't much happening.

My dads a big fan of Naples near there, but its very businessman orientated area.
