It's only a 5 day excursion around the coast, but I wondered if she might have Wi Fi so I can drop her an email as she was unwell the day before she went and I'd like to know if she is now ok.
Having never been on a ship I don't have a scooby.

Cruise ships do no need to be "near a port". They have satellite internet and most ships include it in the price in your cabin and most public areas. Believe me, the tech employed in the ship's systems is first class from sonar to radar and sat nav systems. A bit of wifi is child's play for the operators. Sqad was right first answer.
