Electric Bike By Air

Has anyone on here taken an electric bike with them by air ? easyjet will not allow them (battery charge capacity restriction) but it looks like BA may (their site does not say nor on which terms). On some other airlines the battery cannot be included and must be sent separately by other means. Does anyone have any personal experience or first hand account(s) ?
