Was in Nice recently and took the big open topped bus tour round the city.
Sat at the back, and as we were coming downhill and round a corner, got thoroughly smacked in the face by a tree branch. Fortunately my glasses protected my eyes, but it was a hard enough blow to bring tears to my eyes.
Moved seats and noticed that there were a number of places where the branches could have caused hurt if the passengers hadn’t ducked.

I can sympathise. I foolishly decided to take the Belfast Tour when it first became available a few years ago, and exactly the same thing happened. I had a red mark on my face for three or four days. Open-top double deckers are quite dangerous.
Maybe you should keep your eyes open.
Did you complain?

Thanks Scooping that was a really useful response.

Zac - it was a bit difficult to complain. My French isn’t great and the driver spoke only basic English.

Channel 5. I think there should be warnings on these buses.
I was the only one hit at the time as I happened to just be at the right (wrong) angle as it went round the corner. And, obviously on these tours, you are looking out to the right, left, front, all over the place.
