Can anyone confirm that the electricity in Dubai is 220v, and that the plugs are the same as UK ie 3 pin? Thank you.

Morning all. Indigestion gone thanks and no more lovely crispy warm baguette with soup if I can resist.
Pleased your gardener turned up Robi. You have a lovely garden, it would be a full time job for me. The lilac trees I had cut down are now beginning to blossom again. I'm really happy about that, in fact all the bushes and the Rowan are shooting.
I've also had a go at Bonsai. I have a 'tree' in a pot and will have a go at putting a photo on here. All advice gratefully received if any of you know anything.
It's about 18 months to 2 years old. Fuschia was the only other person to know about that!
I've never tasted sourdough bread! Woofy. When Steady was at home I cooked and baked a lot more than I do now. I do the odd pie now and again, basic apple or meat.
School day now. Looking forward as usual. Hope you're all enjoying this lovely sunny one.
'Feel sorry for' and 'Cameron' aren't words I'd put together.
I know I just did, typing doesn't count :)

Jude I had a bonsai kit .....haha, I typed bonksai....but I wasn't successful. I once had to plant sit two of Tarquin's when he went on holiday, they worried me to death but they survived. Not long afterwards his then partner murdered them with some spray or other.

Took the photo in the house easier to see without all the green but it lives outside.
Have to look up what tree it is. The leaves are getting smaller as I take off the largest now and again. So 'amateurish' but I'm trying without expert info. Not too fussy but it seems to be surviving Bonksai or not Rob :)

I only feel sorry for Cameron because the Brits laud someone and then take great delight in bringing about their downfall, no matter who they are.
Hello all
Another lovely day but the old east wind is still chilly out of the sunshine .
I know nothing about bonsai.I used to have a lot of house plants but they don't do well in this house for some reason .I had a massive money plant that I brought here from London and it gave up the ghost shortly after.Perhaps it didn't like being moved. The same with the african violets.I don't bother with indoor plants now much as I love a bit of greenery indoors.
Hope you're all ok today.I'm doing my brothers ironing. It's hard work with the old gammy leg but I'll soldier on.Must show willing :)
I've never been a fan of Mr Cameron, but better the devil you know and all that in the present climate I suppose.I'm not a party voter anyway and vote for the person who I think will best serve my constituency and hope that they keep their promises.
I doubt he'll survive for very long after the vote though whichever way it goes and he did say he wouldn't serve a third term anyway .His old Eton chum is after his job amongst others.

Victoria Wood has died, I can't believe it, I always watch Dinnerladies when I am in the kitchen cooking, just love her sense of humour!!
I can't believe it either neti, so very sad.

It's a lovely day but the wind's colder than yesterday. I've got a blinding headache and sudden throbbing pains just above my right ear so I've done nowt since I got back from the shops. I need a spare head and shaney needs a spare leg. Anyone else? I'll have a look on ebay.
Question Author
See if there is any spare money please Robi??
Very sad about Victoria Wood. She was so funny.Strange how were only talking about the Woman's Weekly the other day and I thought then that the last time I saw her was on the Bake off last year for charity.

I need some new shoes .I need some to get my foot in so I can go out .I can't go out in these silly sandals.I'm loathe to buy a wide fitting pair because the right foot would look as if I was wearing a canoe.Do they sell odd shoes ?..lol.
I've been looking online but they're all old granny type stuff ..tut.I'll have to get a skateboard .
oh dear those shoes are lovely.....
making sourdough is like keeping another pet. You have the starter in a jar like a ginger beer plant and it bubbles and makes the kitchen smell of alcohol. I have phases with baking and making.
I used to do bonsai but couldn’t keep up with the watering in summer.
Tortoises went outside today. They both ate and wandered around then took themselves off to sleep in their favourite places. Heidi didn’t seem bothered so i think she must have enough sight to manage.

We are battened down as there is a storm coming . Love it when we are all safe and cosy.
Thanks Jno but there don't seem to be any prices for them and no shop in my area .I looked on Amazon for the brand but they're all one size pairs and ideally I'd need to try shoes on for this.
I just hope it'll soon heal and I won't need odd shoes, otherwise I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and buy two pairs of something. It's the width I need on one foot.
Turned chilly now after the lovely sunshine and they say cold winds from the north for the weekend .Don't ditch your liberty bodices just yet.
Night all.
Morning...time to get your tiaras on.

Good morning, we had such a storm last night, but the satellite always goes off and Internet tv wasn't wonderful, still nice and sunny now. Just washing our bedding. Off to Zumba at 11.30, I cant leap about as the leader does, I sort of clomp the steps and then she adds arms, there is no way I can co ordinate arms and legs. I prefer Pacha just fling it all about,
Question Author
Hope shaney and Robi are feeling better today, and the rest are fine,
back again...

Forecast says it's going to be a sunny day again and hopefully my headache won't come to anything, it's threatening again.
It's hard to decide whether to hum happy birthday your majesty or the ballad of Barry and Freda. I've got my shower hat on and a bikini top over my clothes (The Turkish bath attendants :)), a pile of Woman's Weekly and soup's bubbling for lunch...who's got the hostess trolley?

Victoria was almost the same age as me... we all have problems but it makes you realise that a lot of things really don't matter.
Question Author
Same as as you Robi? I'm in the wrong thread!
Been zumba ing quite enjoyed it. Am shattered. Just having a well deserve coffee before plodding up the hill to home.

Yes Robi, it puts things in proportion....

Happy birthday to her Maj though and I hope she has many more.
