I know the letters are completely different, but could it possibly be TRACKS
(different meanings) ???
Question Author
No. The clue is actually "Recorded times during train journey" but I don't think this difference matters.

The letters I have (s,e and d) come from:
"Fresh cheap fruit, more with directions at end!" which is PEACHES
"River in France crossed by TVR trains at Vouvray" which is LOIRE
"Greater Anglia station in Essex on the main line to Liverpool Street" which is Chelmsford.

I'm pretty sure it's S#E#D#. I'm gonna have to go for SPEEDS I think
Maybe it's past tense and ends in ED.
