I'd think that it would be a short career for any mod who carried out any sort of personal vendetta.

Assuming the procedures on here are the same as most other 'volunteer modded' sites, all deletions would be reviewed by paid staff at the earliest opportunity and it would be blindingly obvious if a mod had "gone off on one" and he/she would be in the naughty chair pretty quickly ...
