We intend to visit Newcastle for a few days next week and were wondering what's the best way to buy bus tickets. We're staying near the Metro Centre but will probably want to go into the centre of Newcastle on a daily basis. Is there a cheap option so that we can get around without huge xpense?

Hitch a lift around the city perhaps? That would be the cheapest thing.
There is a Metro Station at The Metro Centre. It's a quick hop over the Tyne to the city centre. Not sure of the prices though. Sorry.
Where's a geordie when you need one?
Here man but I live in the North of the county. I grew up in Newcastle, many years ago.
Where is the Metro Station at the Metro Centre? I've been there hundreds of times but never seen a Metro Station. Metro Bus to Newcastle City Centre is only about a Pound.
Bus is Free if you are over 60,by the way.
Oops Everhelpful. You're right. Sorry.
There is a Station, chrissa, but it is a canny walk to Centre.
Yes, I thought it was closer than it is.
By the way,I hate the bloody Metro Centre,I get dragged there by the Wife. Been 100's of times but still can't find my way around the Malls1
I go about once every 2 years and only if I have to. The hotels there are good though.
That would suit me nicely.every 2 or even 20 years.
Lol.
