I was thinking of that joggerjayne but number one Im not sure of the bank charges, Ill check tomorrow and number two I've got a late flight so need some ready cash as I won't know where the atms are or whether they're even working so want to be safe.
I just get them out of the hole in the wall at the airport, never take them with us.

Thanks welsh and beckers I need to go post office anyway as I still haven't sorted out my travel insurance yet!
There you are then Gorilla, two birds with one stone!..........lol......have a great holiday!........
As has been suggested, you usually get the best deal by using your debit card at your holiday destination. (The charges are usually less than you'll pay at currency exchange facilities).

Also, had been suggested, M&S normally has some of the best rates.

Otherwise your local Post Office is probably as good as anywhere else.

where are you going, gorilla? at the airports I've been in recently, they either 'have ATMs in the arrivals hall in the baggage collection area, or just outside in the arrivals hall before you leave the airport.
have you not been on holiday before?

Boxtops Ill be going zante. We have a late flight so it may be advisable to take cash as I don't want to risk search or weighting in a queue and miss the coach to my hotel, I think I'll take a little cash and use my card in the atms out there also.

Not in a while sara3
Get them at the Post Office then, you can just do it over the counter. If you are paying in cash you are fine, if you are paying by card you will need to take your passport as ID (don't ask me why).
quite so Gorilla, just get enough to last for a day or two, then you know that there's no ungency to find an ATM!.................
Go to Moneysavingexpert.com. scroll down a bit and on the right hand side it will tell you the best rates, online offline, pick up or delivery.
