Going to us in 2 weeks, found out that one of the party (an adult) should probably have got a visa and now we don't have time, if he goes & uses the visa waiver & is declined entry in to the usa will all the party be declined or is he on his own. Many thanks

He'll be on his own.
He would be kept 'Airside' and returned to the delivering airline. If it's the last arriving flight of the day, sadly, he will have an extremely uncomfortable overnight stay in either the 'common' deportation room, or in some airports - JFK, PHL, MIA, IAD, ATL, LAX, ORD, he will have the pleasure of a full-fledged private cell! Harsh, I know. But that's the 'uhmericun' way!

Best of luck

Thank you so very much, my mind is a little easier now. There are young children in the party & I didn't want their holiday ruining because of someone elses silly mistakes. Am still a bit worried & dont know whether to just cancel him from the booking to simplify things but its a lot of money to lose when he might just sail through immigration without any problems.
It may be that the offence is not relevent or current and he would not have needed to apply, just go and enjoy the holiday, sense will prevail
lol bbwchatt ... maybe we should have a contest for the most asked question on AB ... (although this one had a slightly different slant)
lady_p_gold honey - it DOES make you wonder if anyone ever READS anything we take our time and energy to post on here, doesn't it??? :)

Mummy is still green - so apparently new - at least she has an excuse that a lot of the others haven't!!! :)

BBW: My Dear Friend..WHAT are you doing up so late?!!! Where are your fluffy pink slippers? My goodness....I know CHA is a hotspot of nightlife, but you DO need some rest!

Actually I have a question for you...but it's so daft I don't want to start a thread about it as I 'think' you're about the only one who will know this answer! It's about iced tea...

First though....y'all get some sleep!

I'll chat with you later!

Hi all, thanks for your replys but I must say I have read the other 400 postings and most if not all of those are asking about visa's. We know that he will need a visa but there isn't time to get one. So my question is if he doesnt get through immigration and is kept airside & returned home will that mean the rest of us have to come home too, I would be grateful for any advice as there are small children in the group and I dont to jeopardise there holiday in any way. Thanks again.
See dzug's post. Your friend, when entering the US will enter as an individual, if he is declined entry then he and he alone will be declined.
Unless your on the FBI most wanted list you'll be okay.
US customs have NO direct access to UK records so the vast majority of people on the Visa waiver program are fine.

What has he done? Unless its to do with terrorism or drug traffiking then US Immigration are very unlikely to know about it. Just fill in the visa waiver form on the plane and tick no to any convictions etc. Good luck.
Mummy - maybe this will help your friend:
