Hurray, my Partner and I have booked to go to Agadir in Morroco early part of next year and we would really appreciate any advice on any nice places to eat. Any nice places to visit, that we must see. Any trip excursions that we must go on - we have heard a day trip to Marrakesh and an overnight stay with the Beduoin's in the Sahara are a must - if you could let us know of where we could book these for the best prices that would be great. We are so excited as this is the first holiday we have ahd for a while and are soooo looking forward to it, we really want to make the most of it.
Just one last one thing, how strict are the clothing regulations, we totally appreciate that this is predominantly a Muslim country, so want to ensure we wear the right attire.
Thank you so much in advance, xxxx

You can do Marrakesh in a day - there should be local operators and your hotel will probably have brochures - but when I did it it involved leaving at 5am and coming back about 7pm, so quite a distance. Agadir is a nice place, great beaches and good food (French influence) but fairly remote from the rest of the country

You will be able to book day trips once you get there but to give you an idea of what will be available & prices have a look here

With regard to what is expected in a muslim country with regard to clothing you will find that within the hotel complex, by the pool it is the same as anywhere - swimsuits & bikinis -but outside of the hotel, you should be prepared to dress more modestly. Moroccan women go to the beach covered from head to toe!

For example it is better to wander the town & go sightseeing in shorts that are not too brief - mid thigh to knee length are better - with a T shirt not a bikini top. Sundresses can be worn but it is a good idea to have a blouse or little cardi - or pashmina - with you to cover up when necessary. You can, of course, do what you like but I always think it is better to be a bit considerate & respectful and you will be treated better.

When I was there, women were not allowed into the mosques as they are in Turkey so I was unable to see any - except from the outside. If by any chance that ruling has been changed, you would be expected - as you are in Turkey - to at least cover your shoulders and upper arms and sometimes your head.
