Connecting Laptop to PC

I have a PC with no monitor, and a laptop.  Is there anyway I can link the two machines so that I effectively use the laptops screen as a monitor for the PC?  If it is possible, any special cables needed?

I know that to transfer files I can use a USB File Sharing cable, but If didn't want to transfer files (just view the PC files on my laptop) is these a simpler and cheaper cable to use?

Thanks very much

No, that is not possible. (unless you preconfigure the desktop with a PC Anywhere/VNC type of app, than connect it with the laptop through a x-over cable or hub, and than take  control of the desktop machine through PC Anywhere/VNC)
