Burning DVD's

I have been trying to burn a dvd with two one hour long docu's edited to lose the ads so about 1.45 hr long, this is in mpg format but they wont fit on to a normal 4.7gb disc, what other format could I use to reduce these files down a bit to enable me to get at least two on a disc?

You could keep them the same size and burn onto a dual layer DVD.
or convert the files to VOB Moonie?
(...which can hold 8.5 gig)
Remaster the DVD.
Use ConvertX2DVD on the original files (avi, mkv, etc)
Or drag the ifo file for each title into the project.
You will easily get those on one 47Gb disc.
Alternatively, you can use a jpg/mp3/dvd Home player to play avi straight from a DVD as data format.
convert the files to divx if you can ,you can get poss 5 movies on a dvd with no loss of quality if your system can play this type of dvd

Thanks one and all, Hi bobbi, I have already converted them from .ts to mpg so I will have a look to see if I can change them over again.
