There's a golden rule for fixing Firefox problems:
Simply reinstall it!

If you run the installation program again (WITHOUT uninstalling Firefox first) you'll find that everything returns to normal, and that all of your bookmarks and preferences are retained.

Well .. if you are using the latest version (3.6.13) I know it is ok, as had about 10 tabs in it open last night.
Try Tools/Clear all history .. files .. cookies.
Try disabling add-ons .. one at a time.
What add-ons are you using exactly?
Are you using a custom theme? Try loading default theme and try again.
If all else fails, you will have to over-install.

Thanks for answers.
Seems like over install is the best way to go.
Should I install Firefox 4 while I am at it?
Would like to know your views on this.
I appreciate that Firefox 4 is in beta.
Don't install beta software.
Firefox is ALWAYS in Beta .. even the current versions TBH.
I don't use 4 yet ... let a few problems get ironed out first.

OK. Will leave Beta alone.
Will just over install.
Thanks to all who responded.
