hi all. i posted a question the other day about trying to get my pc to recognise that my mobile phone was plugged in. i've tried everything, including uninstalling and reinstalling the nokia pc suite, plugging the phone in first, then last, a new usb cable, i even had the phone changed! (it wasn't operating properly viz a viz Bluetooth) anyway, short of contacting nokia themselves, any ideas? the pc DOES give out 'negative' beeps when i plug in the phone, or plug it out, but wont recognise that it's connected. i searched the phone for other connectivity options, and now i'm at my wits end!

did you install the pc suite first some one told me it wont work if that is installed before the driver for the cable try unplugging it from the usb then plugging back in then go to connections on your pc suite my connection says nokia com port 4 hope this helps
Yes, you have to install the driver for the cable BEFORE installing the PC suite.  If you didn't, un-install them both then re-install them ensuring you install the cable driver first.

thanks madnmad and Kerplunk. i had to contact nokia who told me to download the latest pc suite version 6.4.1. it took about an hour! but was worth it because the phone connected no bother then! just finding it hard to get songs from the cd player saved into the audio section of the pc suite, so that i can save them to the phone! am terrible with computers! instructions aren't clear, or else i'm missing something plain!
