Why would my toolbars vanish like that, never had it happen before

You pressed F11 by accident, it toggles full screen view on and off (press it again now..... a second press will switch it back to normal again)

There is no need to post a new thread for questions like this BTW, it will confuse other users for a start, just tag any additional questions onto the original question.
