Hi ABers.
I have just got a Samsung N220 plus with windows 7 starter pack installed. i removed Norton and installed AVG free. i then started to move photos and docs from my old comp to the new one using a memory stick this went well. then i switched of the comp and got the message that i had 50 windows updates to install and not to switch off comp. I left it running and it switched it self off . Upon starting up the comp later the updates started configuring and after 10 mins the message saying "failure to configure windows updates reverting changes came up. i then noticed AVG had gone from my desk top and when i tried to use my memory stick again it was not recognised although it shows in the scanners and
devices. i tried a different stick and it shows ok and the original stick works ok on another computer. I reinstalled AVG ok but everytime i shut down i have to go through the computer trying and failing to install these updates although now my AVG is not affected i still cant use the first memory stick, any help would be gratefully appreciated

Did you uninstall Norton using their uninstall tool if you didnt then it is still there.you have to download the uninstaller from their website and run it to remove all its contents including its registry entries. To transfer stuff from your old computer to your new the best is to use a USB transfer cable which installs a little program on each computer and all you have to do is drag and drop the items you wish transfer into the folder you want them in. I would uninstall AVG before you try to remove Norton if you hadn't used their uninstaller.
