Just sat here in the living room and realised there was a wet patch on the ceiling and wall. I went upstairs and into the hot press and found the leak. There is a pipe that runs down next to the boiler and then has a gap in it, surrounded by black plastic(?) and then the pipe runs down underneath this. You can put your finger in the gap and when you do it is filled with water to the brim so when it drips it is spilling over and coming through the ceiling.

Its probably not the best description but can anyone tell me how to fix it please!

TIA

Are you in Scotland as it sounds like a 'tun dish' which Scottish building regs require. If it's only dripping, put a towel around it and call a plumber. Incidentally, what's a hot press?

I'm in Northern Ireland, the house is only a few months old so I'm guessing it would be for the builders to fix rather than me pay for a plumber? lol, hot press is the word over here for airing cupboard!
Thanks. Hope you get it fixed soon. Sounds like a valve may need some slight adjustment.

Caj ........... definitely call the builders, especially if only a few months old. Get in quick. They'll be unavailable for 2 weeks soon :o(
