Blackberry ID non-stop loading screen

Hi, I'm currently using a blackberry storm (the first one) and I managed to set up an ID after a LOT of effort, I had to do it on my pc in the end as it just would not work on the phone!
So now that I've managed to create an ID, it logs in fine on the computer, but on the phone it just brings up a loading bar and continues to do so for ages! Bit frustrating as I cannot download apps without signing in!!!
Does anyone know why it would do this?
