My FH's computer crashed yesterday. Since then the wireless thing has refused to work. When you go into the HP Wireless Assistant it says that the wireless is turned off. Doesn't matter how many times we press the wireless button though, it will not turn back on again. Is there something else that we can do, please?

Could be that the windows built in wireless config has taken over.

look for ab icon like this in the toolbar by the clock and see if you can find any wireless networks by opening that.

when I did that CHuck it said that the wireless thing was disabled and to switch it on, but the switch is not responding.
OK, check the device manager to see if the hardware is working OK.

Exactly how to get to the device manager varies depending on version of windows, so if you don't know where to find it if you post the make and model of the laptop and what version of windows I can point you the right way.

Chuck, thank you. I got him to do that and then had to dash off to work. But he sorted it by enabling it through device manager and then re-booting.
