Playing dvd`s abroad

Hi, we are going to Cyprus on Weds and the villa we are renting has a dvd playing, if i took some of my grand daughters dvd`s from home would we be able to play and watch them in Cyprus or not, as i know when you buy them you have a choice of region 1 or 2. Thanks.

dvd,s played in this country can be used anywhere in europe providing power source is the same which it is in Cyprus so yes they should play ok

I do go quite a lot as my hubby is a Cypriott but ive never taken dvd`s there to play and im packing my case and hubby working so cant ask him, but thanks for answers now i can finish my packing. x

Thats where my hubby`s god mother and father have a villa, not been there we stay the other side of the island Kato.

Yes Bobbi not wrong there, we are walking distance to harbour, its so hot out there at the moment, which is unusual for this time of year, i dont like heat lol think i will stay here. x

Oh yes i know it, dont think i would ever go back up Troodos again tho, it frightens the life out of me i end up sitting on the floor of the car so i cant see out the window lol.
