weird symbol on message

I sent a text to 150, which tells me how many minutes and texts I have left. But when I did it today, it said I have a bill, for 20p. But I can't think why.

Dad asked if I sent picture messages, and i haven't. But I looked through my sent box and could find any. But I did find a normal message that on the preview screen, with the other messages had a little blue circle with two wavey green lines coming out of it from the right.

What does this mean? And if it isn't to do with the 20p bill, what could the charge be for?

And i've just thought of something it could be. Out of all the messages i sent people, that was the only one that was the first message I'd sent to that person, everyone else i'd texted before.

Ps. it's a lg cookie, on a contract with t-mobile.

it's the new technology that the LEA have added to the phone networks and it acts as a safety device for when students are out and about and need to be monitored . it's done using the bounceback texting technology they used to track the space station

Thanks. But howcome I've sent other texts to that person and not got that symbol again?
Eh?
Brilliant explanation dotty ;-)

Dotty, are you sure, this person's left school now. I'm not sure what they're doing, I think they're at a vocational kind of college. Or is it still there from when they were at school?
Question Author
Which doesn't make sense.
If it is the same LEA for the school and college then probably , yes
"Out of all the messages i sent people, that was the only one that was the first message I'd sent to that person, everyone else i'd texted before. "

"But howcome I've sent other texts to that person and not got that symbol again? "

I'm reading this as though you're saying you've never sent a text to that person, then you said you've sent other text to that person.

Right to try and make this clearer . . . say I have five contacts, Abi, Brian, Cathy, Danni and Ellie.

I've sent and recieved texts off of Abbi, Brian, Cathy and Danni before, but they've been deleted to make room for other messages so I can't see the first ever message I sent them. But i've only recently got Ellie's number and with the first ever text I sent her, was this symbol. Since then i have sent Ellie other messages, but this symbol hasn't appeared on any of these other messages nor on any message I sent any of the other four people.

Kappish?
Ask the recipient to confirm they got the message with the symbol against it.
"Ps. it's a lg cookie, on a contract with t-mobile."

How can you have a contract phone, you are not allowed to enter a contract until you are 18.

Also, a contract phone wouldn't have "minutes and texts left"
Question Author
Chuck, it's in my dad's name and I give him the money for it.

I get 300 minutes and 300 texts a month. If I text 150, it sends a message back, with any charges and how many minutes and texts I have left.
Question Author
He msut have got the message seeing as he replied to it.
