vista side bar apps

What apps/widgets or what ever they call them have you got on your sidebar?

If you go on the website there are hundreds to trawl through, but i think I found some of the most useful to me; a local weather thing, including wind speed, a dictioanry/thesaurus, notepad, calendar, scientific calculator and a convertor that has hundreds of units, spanning temperature, length, volume and loads more.

As far as I'm concerned widgets etc, just take up valuable screen space. After all, which of those do you need to see constantly?

Our screen is really wide, either side of this website, past to ads is . . . 20cm of blankness, it's not as if there's not enough room for it.

Well I have two 22 Inch monitors side by side, and I still wouldn't want to waste screen space on something that I wasn't actually using at the time - but hey, its whatever suits you. But you asked, so I answered :-)

CPU/RAM meter
Quick Program launcher
Weather
RSS scroller
Media Player with lyrics/video
Off/Restart/Lock (as "Shut Down" on my machine/Vista seems to = go into standby)

Use them all frequently.

Rojash i see what you mean, but that space would just be filled by more blankness if it wasn't there.

Same as rojash, but also I don't want my computer and network resources used by something that isn't used all the time.
