radio/cd/tape - deck, through 3.5mm jack plug to line in on p/c, works fine through speakers, but I have to have p/c switched on to play hi-fi.I've looked on web seeking a switched box ( 3.5mm socket to 2 x 3.5mm sockets) & cannot locate anything that meets my requirements, can anyone suggest a solution please?

You don't need them to be 3.5mm sockets and phono socket switches are far more common just use either phono to phono, or phono to 3.5mm leads as required.

(remember an audio switch will work both ways round, although that one ↑ says 3 inputs and one output you just reverse the connections to make it 1 input 3 outputs.)
