I've just bought this and can't get any sound out of it. I've installed the disc and have connected both large conectors and the light green socket thing from the monitor to the green socket thing on the tower.
What am I doing wrong? Help

That'll be because it's not got speakers in it.

the green socket on the monitor is a audio out socket for connecting speakers to the monitor and will only work if it's connected using HDMI (which supplies audio into the monitor over the HDMI cable)

I have connected a HDMI ( a white socket with two screws) into the tower and the monitor but still no sound.
That'll be a DVI cable you've connected, they don't carry sound.

also note I said the monitor has no speakers built into it, you would have to connect external speakers to the green socket on the back.

Riight. I 've got two speakers that I used to use with my husband's laptop. How do I hook those up to the tower?
Plug them into the green socket on the tower.

Yaay! Got it. Thanks Chuck.
How are you finding the monitor itself chrissa? I've seen this for what seems a decent price on Amazon and it's got lots of good reviews.

Hi mobius1. I would recommend it quite highly. The picture quality is super. My husband needs to look at architectural drawings and they are so much clearer on the 24" than they were on the 22" one we had.
I was disappointed that there were no speakers but for the price, it's a good buy.
