XP takes 30 minutes to boot

hi
any help would be great.
atfer formatting the HD it now takes 30mins to boot, but once its booted it runs fine.
any ideas?

run msconfig. check start up to see what
programmes are loading, then tick boxes
against programmes that you don't need.

And have you installed the full set of correct drivers following the reinstall?

if not I'd suggest doing so, making sure you install the chipset drivers.
Download and run Glary Utilities and use the startup manager module this will show you what is starting on boot . You can disable the ones you dont want and check that there are no unwanted ones which you can delete. You can also run msconfig and check the boot time which is usually 30 seconds change it to 6 seconds and that will help also.
